For example, somewhere around your house you have hardwood with laminate flooring in one place. It could be OK if they match. Many people ask, is it possible to sand down the laminate and restain it. Real wood can be sand down and restained althoughh that isn’t the same for laminate.
Unfortunately since the laminated finish on the wood is so thin, you can not sand and refinish. So in the situation what we wrote above, you can just replace all hardwood with laminate or replace all laminate flooring with hardwood. That is one of not many things in what laminate lose to real wood.
