Q&A: Is it OK to put laminate flooring in a without heating?
Tue, Jul 29, 2008
Putting laminate flooring in an area that doesn’t have a temperature maintained between the temperatures listed on the box. Most of the boxes of flooring will tell you not to even store them in extremely hot or cold temperatures.
Also, hot and cold changes makes for condensation (moisture) and most laminate flooring is not suggested for “below grade” (which I would think would include unheated) spaces.
Read the box before you install it and make sure you will not be outside the temperature ranges on the carton. If so, the manufacturer will probably not honor any warranties if you have a problem.
If you do put it in, I would put in the best quality floor I could. The least expensive one may turn out to be more expensive because it may not hold up and you will have to replace it.
