Small Tips For Choosing Laminate Floors
Sun, Jul 13, 2008
If you are overwhelmed by all the choices and options of laminate floors than that tips are defenetly for you.
- You should consider the thickness of the flooring. It goes from just under 1/4″ to just under 1/2″. The thicker it is the better the durability, but, more expensive.
- When buying it, look for the products that have the NALFMA seal, which will describe the minimum performance standards. The seal means the product meets requirements.
- Home Depot and Lowe’s offer installation services. If you opt to go with the flooring outlet, they may or may not.
- If not, find flooring contractors, get estimates with labor warranty/guaranty, in writing. The contractor can also get the flooring. If he does, get a material warranty in writing as well.
- Before deciding on a contractor, get references and check with the BBB in your area. Better safe than sorry!
- As for putting it in the bathroom/kitchen, it would look beautiful. My only concern would be the “what if” a leak happens? If a leak popped up and it was a big one, that could mean the flooring might have to be replaced.
